Our 2025 Jury

We’re so excited to host our 2025 – and 40th (!) – Irving M. Klein International String Competition. At the backbone of our weekend is our amazing slate of jury members, who are America’s premier composers, educators, performers, and conductors. This year, we are proud to announce our jury members:

  • Barbara Day Turner, conductor and Music Director of San Jose Chamber Orchestra
  • Glenn Dicterow, former concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic; current Chair in Strings and Chamber Music at the USC Thornton School of Music
  • Karen Dreyfus, violist, teaches at Manhattan School of Music and faculty of the USC Thornton School of Music
  • Jonathan Koh, cellist, teaches at University at California, Berkeley and San Francisco Conservatory of Music
  • Eileen Moon, from 2007-2022, Associate Principal Cello with the New York Philharmonic
  • Hal Robinson, from 1995-2022, principal bass of the Philadelphia Orchestra; current faculty of the Curtis Institute of Music
  • John Wineglass, Emmy-Award Winning Composer; 2024 Klein Competition-commissioned composer
